I'm Sharing A Secret...

There’s a secret I’ve been keeping.

Partly because of how much work I’ve put into it. And partly because sharing it means admitting something I’ve struggled with.

It’s part of a system I built for my paid service. And honestly, I wanted to keep it there.

But I don’t want to gatekeep this anymore. And I don’t want to share it without telling you the truth about why I created it.

“What results do you bring?” used to be a question I dreaded.

I knew I was good at my work. But there were parts of its impact I didn’t know how to prove — and admitting that felt like giving someone a reason to doubt me.

I had case studies with numbers. Visibility, engagement, audience growth. I could show those results.

But as my work evolved, the reasons people came to me changed.

On a recent discovery call, I was asked how much reach I’d generated for clients.

It was a fair question. If reach is your priority, you should ask it.

But it made me realize how differently I now understood the work I was being hired for.

Most clients come to me because they want to be positioned clearly. Taken seriously. Trusted by people whose decisions matter to their business.

They want the right people to understand their value — and think of them when an opportunity comes up.

If you want more people to see you, which people? And what do you want them to see in you?

I’ve experienced the difference myself.

With barely 2,000 followers on Instagram, I was being invited into bigger rooms by people who had never even liked my posts.

They were watching. I just couldn’t see it in my engagement.

Those invitations told me something my numbers didn’t: my presence was reaching people who could open doors.

But I wanted a way to track that kind of progress beyond individual stories — including my own.

Earlier this year, I created the Influence-To-Access System inside Presence To Power, a service I’ve been quietly building and rarely speak about publicly.

It builds an entire ecosystem around your positioning, presence, perception, proximity and power — with profit as the sixth P.

To track that journey, I created a detailed scorecard.

After 34 Presence Letters, I wanted to let you inside a small part of it.

If you’re consistently building your personal brand, company brand or strategic presence, these are five areas to review every month.

  1. Perception: Are you being taken seriously and treated as a peer
  2. Access: Are you meeting decision-makers, entering relevant rooms and getting invited back?
  3. Influence: Are your opinions shaping decisions and opening opportunities?
  4. Recall: Is your name being recommended when you’re not there?
  5. Commercial leverage: Are decisions faster, pricing objections fewer and opportunities more valuable?

Score each area from 1–5, considering both quantity and quality.

Use 1 for no clear evidence, 3 for meaningful progress, and 5 for consistent, high-quality outcomes. Use 2 and 4 for the stages in between.

Here's How To Evaluate:

  • Support your scores with numbers: relevant invitations, referrals, decisions you helped shape and qualified opportunities.
  • Next, consider their significance. Two introductions to people who genuinely need your expertise could mean more than twenty casual conversations.

Build Your Scorecard:

  • Make a simple table in Google Sheets, Excel or a notebook.
  • Put the five areas down the side and each month across the top.
  • Record your scores alongside the numbers and examples behind them.

Keep doing it as you build. Give yourself at least 90 days to see a pattern.

You might discover that your audience hasn’t grown much, but the right people are beginning to trust you with bigger things.

You might also realize that plenty of people see you, but very few understand when to come to you — or what to recommend you for.

Both are worth knowing.

I know how personal it feels to put your work out there and wonder whether any of it is making a difference. A quiet response can make you question work you believed in before you pressed publish.

That’s why this truly matters to me.

I want you to recognize the trust you’re earning, the relationships that are deepening, and the opportunities taking shape — even when they don’t announce themselves on your feed.

Who trusts you more now? Who invites you back? Who puts their name behind yours?

Your answers deserve a place in how you measure your growth.

Reply and tell me: which of these five areas do you most want to move?

Until next week,
